Amundsen - canton Sound System

Featured Replies

You else get an external amp that goes under the passenger seat. Are the remaining speakers really exactly the same as the standard ones?

I'm not 100% sure. http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/HotspotDetail?HotspotName=New%20Octavia%20Estate%20-%20Canton%20Sound%20System&WebID=3e1f7ded-131f-435f-8be0-87500e18c873&Page=technology

That suggests it's just the additional speakers but the photo has a Canton branded door speaker so the speakers may be different after all.

This page suggests the amp is a 10 channel one so it would affect the sound of all speakers if that's the case: http://www.skoda-auto.com/en/models/HotspotDetail?HotspotName=R15%20-%20Canton%20Sound%20System%20%5BA7%5D&WebID=7e9ba4d8-8894-4941-99bb-dd2cb2d097c1&Page=technology&view=TechnologyNavigation

From left: 8 speakers vs Canton 10 speakers vs Octavia 2 Sound System.

Look at the wattage and types:

Standard for O3:

Front: pair of tweeters + pair of mid/bass drivers

Back: pair of tweeters + pair of mid/bass drivers

So it's just a 4 speaker system doubled at the back...

Canton in order up to down (don't know which is which on scheme):

Central speaker x1- tweeter x2 + bass x2 + mid x2 + tweeter x2 + woofer x1

As You can see speakers are different, power, resistancy - all is different in Canton setup.

Also all the speakers are Neodymium now, O2 had ferrite ones.

Anybody have the Octy II 12 speaker system and now the Canton in their Octy III? What do you think as a comparison? I have the 12 speaker in my Scout and thinks its pretty good so..?
