BMW 120XDRIVE

Featured Replies

Any comments on the above? I took a test drive in the Msport version. Nice car but the sports seats were too narrow in the base (no I do not have a fat arse!) Have not driven an SE spec with non sports seats though.

I actually liked the car much more than I thought I would unfortunately most nearly new ones are either white(dont like) or black which is too hard to keep clean

In fact I am puzzled by the resurgence of white cars as a popular colour(tone?) cannot see the appeal at all.

Anyone any experience of such a car?

Must admit i was a bit apprehensive about the BMW dealers but Lloyds BMW in Carlisle made me feel very relaxed and welcome.

Have driven an xdrive but did have a 118D - ended up hating the car -  fantastic if you wanted to "drive" the car but compromised in to many way to "use" as and everyday car. rock hard suspension, silly small boot, poor back seat keg room, eat tyre for breakfast are just a few of the things I disliked.

Were the seats unadjusted? My mate had a 320d Msport and I thought the same about the seats until he pointed out a control to adjust the seat bolster width.

SWMBO has a rwd 116ia and it does drive nicely, doesn't have the rock hard ride due to not being a sport model. The ride is still firm and probably on a par with the 'sport' options with other manufacturers.

Her's has been reliable. She's had it a year now and it's due it's second service and MOT.

Dealer is very pleasant to deal with despite us not actually spending any money with them yet.

Yes that was it the white one about £24k

White; I cannot understand the popularity.

I did adjust the seat bolsters but this just does the seat back which is fine it was the seat base which pinched.

Young salesman allowed me a pretty good test drive but my bum was a wee bit numb when I got out, no sordid jokes please.

the SE has non sport seats and 16" wheels rather than the 18" on the MSport although I was surprised how compliant the ride was and I was on some pretty rural roads.

Most used ones seem to be the MSports however. And most are white or black.

But yes what a pleasant experience it was at Lloyds. Their Volvo branch looks after my V50 and I must admit they have been pretty good too.

Because white and black are the free colours (on a base 3 series on bmw.co.uk anyway, I assume it's the same on other models).

White is the new in colour! Personally im not a fan i like quite rare colours that you don't see everyday.

I find that with the 3series msport seats they kinda dig me in the side of the ribs, even fully adjusted with no bolster support they are still uncomfortable.

They do look nice however

I don't think that will make much difference. Most fleets pay no extra for mettalic paint and many BMWs are on Fleets.

BBBaby forum not a patch on Briskoda by the way.

White is the new Silver, don't yer know.
