OCTY VRS Audi S3 APY engine transplant advice

Featured Replies

Hi all, I have an ongoing project at the moment fitting an APY engine from an audi s3 to my 52 plate octy VRS, (car was purchased with no engine/gearbox etc) The engine I have was very bare bones, no sump, no pipery, I am planing on using the KO4 with the S3 manifold, I am after some advice on whether the S3 down-pipe will fit with adequate clearance on the VRS, I think it should..... and I need a sump for the engine, I am not sure if all the 1.8T sumps are the same, and whether it will need an oil level sender or not for the VRS (It will be using a VRS loom) I have all the pipery from a VRS so am reasonably confident I can use that, but have no dipstick pipes (steel or plastic) or stick, i am assuming it would be best to get the S3 dip stick components...........if the sump doesn't affect measured oil level etc.

I have many other obstacles to overcome and questions to ask, but I will try to not be too much of a newbie pain in the bum! Cheers!

just in case anyone ever needs to know, the Audi S3 downpipe fits perfect (K04 with stock S3 225 manifold), just need the support bracket for the back end of it to hang off, (S3 or TT)

Good luck with the swap mate sounds an interesting project.
