Kw's & Questions + What r they worth ?

Featured Replies

Random..... What happens when then golf guys take the adjuster away on the rear

Apart from doooown lol

Does. It become unsafe as fook ?

And how would it mess with how it handled n drove :D

Not unsafe, our lasses old mk4 were removed and my e36. Just for that extra few mm's of lows

First question i would ask is why altho i think i know that answer,

If your talking about using coilover springs without the adjusters i would say its sounds dangerous as there not going to sit in rear cups right and will probably fall out if the car is lifted on a ramp as there is nothing to hold them in apart from normal spring tension that coilover springs won't have,

The springs are pig tailed top and bottom and the coilovers springs are also flat at bottom to sit on adjuster, probably better off putting a set of very low lowering springs on instead or getting a set made up if there not low enough

There is a place in Sheffield that makes springs to how you want. Height and stiffness wise

On kw v1 it's not a problem the spring just sit on the cup(which is the same shape as the adjuster)and the spring doesn't fall out, been running mine like it for a while it also levels the car out rather then having a rake if the fronts are also wound right down

I could do with that as my rear crappy jom coilover springs are opening up at top and knocking on body of car

You may have to send them a spring with it being Coilovers but have a word, they may be able to sort something :)

Im out of threads lol

Just thinking to save for silverline fk's

100mm front

90mm rear lol

Could do with a extra 10mm on the rear

Maybe 15 ;)

If i could get car to sit right i would quiet happily take coilovers off and put springs and shocks on instead but most kits ive seen seem to give the octavia a saggy rear end,

I carn't lower car to much due to all speed bumps round here, i had some spacers made up to fit under my rear coilover cups so it wouldn't sag if i had some weight in back but its just opened pigtails out on top of springs instead now

You could always take the adjuster out and leave the threaded cup for the bottom of the spring to sit on, will give a few more mm

I'm sure someone will be along to tell you that your car will be a death trap if you do but mine has them removed and it's been fine for years and has passed mot every year too,so go for it :)

I had this very same problem when I fitted cobra lowering springs. The front sat OK but the rear must have dropped about 55mm!. In the end, I had some spacers made for the rear springs to sit on and fitted vw polo front top mounts for another 10mm drop. Its sitting AND driving lovely now. I didn't want to use cheap coilovers myself i wanted to keep the ride fairly comfortable. If I was doing it again, I would look at the kits at DPM that lowers the front a little bit more than the back. The cobra springs were supposed to be 30mm f & b but they definitely weren't!

Even before changing the front strut top bushes my front sat way lower than the rear! I have koni sports + matched -35mm springs. The front is at -45mm I think now. Rear doesn't look like it ever dropped 35mm in the first place.

I don't understand why its so difficult trying to find good springs for these cars that actually lower it by the quoted amount. They either lower the front too much or the back.
