Engine oil question

Featured Replies

I took my Octy to skoda dealers to get major service and other bits sorted the same time under the warranty. I got bit confused once came back home and looked at prev paperwork from other skoda dealers. They have invoiced previous owner for 4.5L engine oil all the prev times. This time my dealers invoiced me and have put in 3.8L of oil which is right according to the book. Didnt have a chance to check the dipstick yet. So makes me think that the prev dealers been mugging the poor old guy or am i missing something. How much of oilactualy goes into the engine? My car is 2L 56 reg octy 103kw.

3.8L is about right for 2L TDi PD140

Capacity is IIRC 4.2L for the PD140 to Max.

A good couple of hundred mL are trapped in the oil filter housing that don't come out without a vacuum pump, so 3.8L seems entirely reasonable.
