front and rear washers not working, pump replaced

Featured Replies

Hi

The pump on the washer bottle has stopped working, I checked fusse 15 and all was well, i tried swapping the fuse too, just to be sure, still nothing. I replaced the pump and still nothing.

It was fine yesterday morning, but last night it just didnt work at all, I did go to a drive through IMO car wash, not sure if that could have dislodged something....

Is it most likely to be the stalk, or is there some other common problem I should be checking for.

The car is an 04 VRS.

Thanks for any help.

Do the wipers move when try to wash the screen?

Can you here the pump running if someone tries to was the screen?

Hi

the pump doesn't run at all, which is why I replaced it, I assumed that the pump had gone, the wipers work ok though, both front and rear, just nothing from the pump. :-(

Pull the pump connector.

Connect the pin that was connected to the green/white wire to ground.

Connect the pin that was connected to the green/red wire to the green/red wire of the connector.

Does it work now?

i'll try that tomorrow, in work now, I guess you suspect a bad earth ?

It seems funny that it just stopped, that is why i was wondering if there was anything the carwash could've knocked lose.

I have seen posts relating to the bonnet switch affecting the wipers, could that affect the washer motor too ?

The earth and the wash-wipe switch, which earths the green/white wire.

Did this work for you? I have the same symptoms at the moment.

Wipers working ok.

Front and rear washer not operating wen you pull/push the stalk.

Cannot even hear the pump trying to work.

Seems to have happened all of a sudden. Checked fuses, my fuse 15 seems to be empty though...

No one else would have been at them to have pulled it. So it's not been removed and not replaced.

15 isn't empty got mixed up, but it's working ok as I swapped it with the reverse light fuse which is fine and neither washer is working
