Fabia sdi injector pump leak

Featured Replies

Hi folks, hoping some of you might be able to give me some advice.

Recently my car started to be a pain to start. It would turn over for a while and I would have to floor the accelerator to get it to start firing. It felt like a fuel problem. I looked at the engine and saw diesel dripping from the front of the injector pump. I took it to the garage and they removed and refitted the metal injector lines from the pump to the injectors. That seemed to work for a while. But today it started to be a pain to start again. I looked and sure enough there is a drip of fuel underneath where the four metal pipes come out of the pump. The nuts around the pipes felt dry. Where else could it be coming from? I'm hoping it's an easy fix as I need the car on the road. Is there a common place for these to leak, any gaskets at that side of the pump. I tried the garage again but they can't fix it for a few weeks and they are adamant that they fixed a problem so this is a new problem and not their fault.

Look for a diesel specialist locally, they will most likely be able to fix it, could be the shaft seal or one of the rubber o rings on the pump.
