Comparison revisted

Some time ago I posted re the two cars i have  and how some 40 years apart they were designed to do the same job and I thought i would bore you by updating

Newer car fabia est 1.4mpi 2002

Older car Saab 95v4 1498cc estate1972.

The contrasts came back into focus in this lovely weather, Saab 40 years on Bone dry inside Skoda no surprise could keep fish in the back and steam filled interior redo doors again done by garage but I will sort myself this time.

Saab steering not that light no power assist Skoda fine unless you hit water then its intermittant heavy and light or tries to fight you more gremlins in the wireing

The Saab needed a complete rewire  the Skoda is chase the fault code the reader was the best purchase I made, nearly all the faults are from poor connections or where some one has forced a conecter apart so it can fall out .

Both built to be multi purpose and do a good job at it but the Saab will seat 7 and carry heavier loads( slowly though) while the Skoda has better ride on smooth surfaces but once in the muck the Saab with its big wheels just steams on while the Skoda just steams.

I have come to like the fabia and when it is good it is for its type very very good but when it is bad it is horrid  and its a real shame that so many bits of poor design or build seem to have crept in making  it not my car of choice when I really need to get there ok slowly but get there.
