Diagnostic

Featured Replies

I have just been quoted 30 quid plus VAT, for a full diagnostics check at my local Garage.

Is this about the norm for a diagnostic?

Hmm, I'd do it for free!  However, I'm the opposite end of the country!

A garage needs to cover its overheads, so I suppose thats fair.

Check the VCDS owners thread in the VCDS forum.  Might be someone near you?

It's actually cheap if they do a good job.

It depends on what they call a diagnostic? Are they going to just plug it in, print and erase the codes?

devonutopia Thanks for the offer and the info ref VCDS forum. mushtafa There are two garages in close proximity this one is always empty, how ever the other one does not do diagnostics.

I actually live in Durham, I just work in Scotland during week, I will look in the VCDS forum for in and around Durham, thank you.

for 30 quid you could buy a fault code scanner, or vcds lite and a cable

Thanks anyway

it's a huge difference between a computer scan and a diagnosis.

Anyone with a laptop can do a scan, but putting a diagnostic on a faulty car only a pro can do it

Bought it, hope its pretty easy to install.  Thanks again, looking forward to seeing the results.
