Internal sill protectors

Featured Replies

I've been looking for some plastic trim stuff to protect the painted parts of the internal sills. Recently, a clumsy oaf scuffed the painted sill with his muddy boots, which really peed me off.

However, I found and fitted some Richard Grant Moulding plastic bits which are superb. http://www.rearguards.co.uk/index.php?app=gbu0&ns=display&ref=sillguardsfitting&sid=07h23d66ngx183g55888bd9l826dz1ad&portrelay=1

I remember them when I bought a spoiler for my Cavalier in an effort to make it look like a SRI :giggle:

Follow the instructions, or as Graham would say, RTFM, and they look like this:

The masking tape is purely to act as a temporary fitting guide, and the red bit is the cover off the second bit of double sided tape which secures the items - just carefully pull off and press onto the paintwork.

RGM also make plastic trim for aircraft, so the standard of finish and fitment is excellent.

They look good, do they come as a set of 4?

Rather a confusing website :wonder: .  No details of what constitutes 'Qty. 1', and Jerry's pic is different from theirs.  I look forward to Jerry's comment, because these things could be the answer!

Err!

Their picture is a FRONT one, Jerry's is a BACK one!

Quantity: 1 pack of 4 covers.

These look good and seem to offer better protection than the stainless/plastic ones I paid over £60 for the original Skoda parts which  I fitted when new :(

Jerry, these appear to provide better protection than the Yeti originals. Thanks for the post.

Nearly right   Graham was right in that it is a single package of four bits of plastic, but my pics were of the front and rear items in place.

I could only take brief pics as I was dodging showers. I was unaware that Skoda provided a sill protecter - looks like I found a better source for the bits.

I didn't show the link provided by Graham as it didn't appear to be a Yeti sill - which I know would probably confuse some people :giggle:

Anyway, getting a good test next Monday as involved in rally car testing all day

Well I was nearly right!!

Have fun in Walters, Jerry. Hope the weather is OK.
