Indicator wiring

A couple of years ago in my quest to change the side lights the wiring for the front indicator in the block snapped i then took it to a local garage and within seconds he fixed by bridging the connection ,well today it happened again tried changing the sidelights forgetting about the bridge so any ideas how it was done .i'm not sure if he just put the wire in one if the terminals on the bulb then putting the bulb back ,i tried pulling the snapped wire out of the block but the other side id just too short to connect ideas on a postcard ...... :beer:
