Just got my 51 plate vRS on Saturday and already have a few questions....

1 - When is the cambelt due on this engine? (it's got a full history and done 77k, so will it have been done yet?)

2 - The small 'joystick' that controls the electric mirrors has broken off - anybody know how much these are and how easy they are to fit?

3 - Finally, any ideas on how much the 80k service is likely to cost me - probably get it done at a dealers.

At 77k the cambelt should have been done at the last service. Ring the dealer who's stamped the service book and ask for them to fax you a copy of whats on their system. I got 2 pages of info for my 70k car including dates the coil packs etc. were changed and when it was serviced etc.

May not need an 80k service, if its been set to variable servicing your next could be at 90k+

According to the service schedule...the cam belt doesn't need changing until 120k....I would have it changed at 60k though for peace of mind.

the joystick for the windows will more than likely come as a complete housing including the surround on the trim.

your local dealer should be able to give you a price for that and i'd have thought it wouldnt be too difficult to fit.

i'd chack with the dealer for service history and get as much info from them as possible. would also urge you to have the belt done if it hasnt been done already as a 51 plates is outside of the 3 year warranty now.
