2.0FSI door trim

Featured Replies

Anyone know how to safely remove driver's interior door trim from NEW Octavia 2.0FSI hatch? Seems to be a soft clatter/rattle from somewhere around there when window fully closed. But glass doesn't seem loose in frame. Open the window an inch and it seems okay. Thought I'd have a look inside before I drag off to the dealer.

Jst a thought... if its a new one you've got your warranty... get your pennies worth out of them!

I wouldn't be having a go yourself mate just for a rattle. Your likely to scratch or damage the door. It's under warranty, let someone else scratch their head over it.

If your really determined to give it a go, this link should be of help

Yeah, true, but I like tinkering and don't want to leave it with them all day if it is something I can adjust myself!

I guess that is right. I know that link, but isn't it the old Octavia? Are they the same?

Yeah your'e right it does appear to be the old octavia doh. I'm sure the procedure is much the same though

No, had a quick look and there are no visible Torx screws, or any other sort, around the trim panel - possibly it is one of those fitted with plug-in plastic pegs. I'm not going to mess around with it unless anyone knows where I can get a [cheap!] copy of the appropriate workshop manual.

It is odd that this problem vanishes if you take the window down even about 1/4" - you'd think it would be more likely to clatter if it was a bit open? Oh well, off to the dealer I suppose.

Is it possible to contact Skoda "officially" and get the manual page about this emailed to me?

Just got booked into Ballamy's - very co-operative sounding so far, AA Homestart not required!! [all Saltdean buyers please note, even though it is same company].

Hope to have mystery of clatter explained by Sept 1. Will report if interesting [probably find someone left a socket set inside the door.]
