Right guys ive got £500 to spend on the vrs this weekend, if it was you what would you do with it?

been offered a KO4 turbo, Manifold and downpipe aswell as some BAM injectors for £350

is that cheap? and would that make the 225BHP that the seller says it will? Other ideas welcome!

Whats already done ?

You'd get 225 with a stage 2 matey

nothing, its standard other than a forge recirc valve, I know id get 225 with a map but how I look at it is, if I remap it now then get bored of that il need to remap it again after fitting a bigger turbo or what ever, so would it make more sense to get the bigger turbo now, then map that to make 260 ish bhp?

Hmmm wheres clive

"CLIVE"

You'd need a map with just popping the k04 on i assume so will jump up

Your need to mate the downpipe to the standard system as they run twin cats off the k04 downppe, and your need to sort the inter cooler piping as the manifold is on the wrong side

Just get a sport cat/decat and a stage 1 map, most stage 1's get around 220 now, or even just the map on its own

Revo have extended there winter 20% off sale until 31/01, get all over that

just do the rounds

stage 1=bored after a week

stage 2=bored after  2weeks

hybrid=bored after 1week as its no faster than stage 2

big turbo=bored before completion as it takes so long and cost a shed load :giggle:

but seriously go stage 2 unless you got cash to burn then go hybrid :giggle:

Your hybrid was epic quick at 10psi

Now on another Vrs running 300 bhp !!

You just mental !!!

K03s with right mods can do 240+ with instant response k04 little bit of extra lag 280+ stage 2 with right mods

It's not straight forward mind but if you can get cheap and factor in mapping do it

so whats peoples advice, if I was in your shows what would you do with the £500 to gain more power as after reading that Im all confused :/

To get more power you need more cold air, more fuel, better exhaust.

Afaik hybrid k03s is easier to implement. K04 works/ feels less strained.

But both turbo are limited by the banana rods which bend at about 280/300 bhp. Some folks run in excess of 300 bhp but just matter of time before goes pop

Will you be doing the work yourself?

remember that any hardware mod needs to be reflected in a map. Except for the intercooler swap.

(Reminds me i need to sell mine)

Have you done any handling mods etc?

no other that a forge recirc valve its standard! I have hopefully purchased a full exhaust system. I will be doing most of the work along with 2 mechanic friends I have. im after a front mount G-slave if you wanna pm me details?

Worn on handling mods first mate, you'll get the most out of the existing power :)

Roll bars, poly bushes, coilovers, good service, decent tyres.....get all that right then start looking for more power!

If all that stuff is ok then start to get some parts together for a hybrid project...large bore tip, injectors, maf, welly cooler, exhaust and so on...

Once you have all the bits get the hybrid unit and fit it all, then get it mapped!

The beauty is if you do it this way you can get a few mint parts for decent money,if you have a change of heart you can sell the parts off!

It would be better than having a mint vrs with a few bits fitted and struggling to get the rest of the hybrid build completed!
