Anyone removed an Octy vrs mk1 spoiler?

Featured Replies

I (wrongly) assumed it was held in by just the 2 bolts at each end.

If I assume it is just bonded on, the bond must be real tough as it doesn't even flinch at 20lb fishing line.  Do I just need stronger fishing line?

Any other recommendations?

As far as I know, its just bonded Very well.

Undo the bolts and lift off. It is bonded as well but a sharp tap upward will break the bond.

is this the polite version :D

just don't pull it in the middle

I just lifted mine hard with the boot closed Jason, no probs, makes a slurpy sound as it lets go due to the bonder, need to clean that off before it goes back on.

I can't latch mine any more sadly

I have bought some cheese wire off Ebay to try and help.  It is definitely WELL bonded on.  It wouldn't budge even a mm at the ends when I tried.

Maybe its been replaced in its life and rebonded with triple hulk strength bond :D

Would heat it help ?

If it's tiger sealed on then no amount of pulling will shift it lol. Cheese wire shud sort it.

What bonder will you use to re-glue it afterwards?

On the subject of spoilers, does anyone know if you can replace the standard vrs spoiler with an aftermarket 'lip' type one easily, without leaving any exposed holes?

Something like this is what I'm thinking of adding (obvs for octy mk 1, not superb):

As far as I can tell, the standard spoiler does nothing except get in the way of my rear view.
