Eco, Normal and Sports Mode

It really holds the gears and goes well, don't think it changes the engine as much as the DSG.

What I love on the DSG is that you can switch from Eco to sports and back again by pushing the gear lever back once. Great if you need to pull into traffic or just have some quick fun

Sport mode i guess just helps make the performance easier to access

That sounds like the kickdown switch for DSG box.

I think they also fitted them to the manual cars and used them as you describe.

That would make sense, almost a sport switch rather than a kickdown. Possibly useful in eco mode if you find yourself in a situation where a bootful could potentially prevent an accident?

Yeah I guess that's why they've left it and used it in the manual version. Makes sense to me.

A bit like being in manual mode on the DSG. Full throttle won't trigger a down-change but if you hit the switch it will.
