Non Starter

Featured Replies

Fabia 1,4 TDI, just had my car valeted, although I stressed no Steam Cleaning in the engine bay, it will not now start.

I drove it home OK with the Glow Plug light flashing and the Engine warning light on, however with the same warning light faults it turns over OK but will not start.

Obviously water has got in somewhere, it looks fairly wet around the ECU.

Which connectors should I check and clean.

Thanks in anticipation.

I had similar problem on mine, then it stopped turning over all together.

Check engine management fuse on driver side of dash.

Got a code reader? A fellow member with bluetooth OBD2 and the Torque app might suffice for getting the code(s) off the ECU.

Latest.

The Engine has just started up OK

Both the Glow Plug Light is flashing and the Engine Light is On

Fault codes are

00102 - Engine speed sensor - Implausible signal

00060 - ABS/ASR 5 7 front V40

2 Faults 01314 Engine Control Module

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Although I tried every possibility it was like looking for a needle in a hay stack, soi gave up and let my local garage sort it out.

It tuned out a connector (which one I don't know) had water in, they told me they simply used an air line to blow it dry and then gave it a snifter of WD 40, I suspect it was either the connection the front of the engine or the ecu connector.

Good luck

DB
