Hi there all, I have owned an 03 plate octavia VRS estate for a number of years now, but sadly the cambelt has recently failed and surgery is required! I am searching for a replacement engine I think to do a swap out, rather than open heart surgery, so would appreciate very much the power of this forum in helping me to locate a suitable donor! I am based near Bristol, have cash, and can travel..! And anyone who has already performed a swap, I would be glad to hear of any pitfalls I may end up in..... I don't want to send an otherwise faithful friend to the scrappers.....

Hello wano71, welcome to briskoda, if you look in the classifieds section there were a few cars beeing broken up for spares, you might be able to grab yourself a second hand engine to shove it there.

PS, was the cambelt premature fail or was it left on too long?

consider repairing the one you have, rebuilding head is cheaper than replacing engine, unless your doing the work yourself

i may know of a rebuilt head for sale in exeter
