New tyre suggestions for 1.4mpi estate 51 plate

Featured Replies

Finally need to replace the tyres on the Fab and was wondering if anyone had any real life suggestions on tyres to get and those to avoid.

Standard steel wheels, tyre size is 165/70TR14 81T

Mainly interested in decent wear life, fuel efficiency and good grip both wet & dry.

Currently looking at either Dunlop Sp StreetResponse, Goodyear Efficient Grip Compact and Yokohama BluEarth AE01. All have C rating on fuel and the Dunlops & Goodyears are B rated for wet whilst the Yokohamas are C rated. All priced around £50-£55 each.

Many thanks.

Put yourself on winter tires Dunloop ace touch. Value \ quality suit me. Excellent way to keep as on dry pavement, and wet. The snow is good too go. Ice survive, but how well I can not say, machine slides, but this is my first car, possibly on other tire braking distance will be longer, maybe less. There is a link to the test of winter tires in 2012-2013 although it in Russian, but google transliteration to help.

Hakapellita 8 trending. Unreasonably high price IMHO.

Thanks for the winter tyre suggestion, must confess I did think about them but decided against them though mytres.co.uk have what seems like a good deal on complete set of steel wheels + Dunlop SP Winter Response @ £93 per wheel delivered.
