green brake caliper paint - pantone 348

Featured Replies

May be interested when I've seen the pics. Why semi gloss and not gloss or matt??

Well gloss finnish could reflect dirt around too much :giggle: . Don't know really, I thought some reflection could look good. Will see...

Hi folks,

past few days I was reading every topic about green caliper paints, went to halfords to find out that they are able to mix java green etc but it isn't the right match with the original green.

Then I started looking for company which can mix RAL colors which seem to be close enough (6037 looks pretty close).

When I emailed a company called paragon paint with some questions about their paints (and mentioned what I am looking for) they replied that they have a formula for pantone 348 developed and are able to mix it, it just isn't on the website. They then created a new product category on their website to order online (try to add and view the basket and check the description  ) so if anyone would like to have their calipers painted in original color, check the link below. Cost with shipping was £22 for 0.5L - semi gloss which isn't so bad (halfords wanted £20 for java green but their paints are simple car body ones). I'm not sure if they do smaller then 0.5L though but I need this for 2 sets so fine by me.

This is my first post but hopefully it doesn't look like an advertise...

Will post pictures of the calipers when painted

Did you use this paint?  It certainly looks a lot cheaper than the old hammerite green colour that some people are selling.

Yes I have bought and used this paint. After almost 6 months & 6000 miles the brakes still look as just painted. And the color tone is exact match to the original paint used by Skoda.

I didn't have a chance to take some pictures with proper camera (excuse my laziness), those below were taken by phone.

Cheers for the reply.  It looks good stuff.

Thinking of also getting some different green for an old Qualcast push mower I'm restoring.
