Does anyone know exactly what functionality the dedicated electrics kit 19220508RC (http://www.pfjones.co.uk/octavia-all-models-7-pin-dedicated-wiring-kit-june-2004-2013-19220508rc.html) as supplied by PF Jones (amongst others) actually gives?

I know it all needs coding, but when connected to trailer or light board does it stop the rear fog lights, rear parking sensors or give a picture if a trailer on the headunit ( amongst other things)?

I've downloaded a fitting manual, but it mentions very little.

The dedicated kit does several things. It turns off the reverse sensors if fitted when the caravan/trailer is connected, it disables the fog lights too when the trailer is connected, on my bolero it also give the image of a trailer draw bar in the display when the car is in reverse, showing that the trailer stability control is active  it also changes the vehicle stability control to trailer stability control, basically letting the ecu know that a trailer is attached and thus the stability control takes into account the trailer when helping to control any skid etc.

           I have the dedicated electrics kit on my car, yes when the plug is connected to the trailer socket then the fog light and reversing sensors are disabled. I'm not sure as I have the Columbus in my car but I have heard that if you have the Stream radio and the right controller then a picture of a trailer will come up on the display. Also the indicator monitoring is a passive system, it will come up with the bulb failure warning when there is a failure rather than beeping all the time. If you have maxidot then it will tell you which indicator has failed.

Blackray. It sounds like you are speaking hypothetically and not from specific personal experience? Please forgive and correct me if I am wrong.

I'm not sure as I have the Columbus in my car but I have heard that if you have the Stream radio and the right controller then a picture of a trailer will come up on the display.

I also have a Columbus and the parking sensors show up so I hoped the trailer warning would as well. I'm a bit confused as to why this kit would work with an older Stream unit and not a newer Columbus unit?
