Why spend all that $, and then still be slower than a stage 2 TFSI ?

Well worth the extra, imho

Made no sense? Where'd stage 2 tfsi come into it?

It is worthwhile agreed, BUT it's not really needed until 300bhp

Its peace of mind tbh

Although if your planning 270/280 and the same torque and don't want rods GET IT MAPPED BY NIKKI at r tech.

If your wanting to wind it up then get rods and get Nikki to go wild with it.

just that for cost of going to a OE engined hybrid setup you're not getting a decent amount of hp, imho

base value of an octavia + price of hybrid is pretty close to tfsi engined car prices

Adding rods basically future proofs the engine.

Unless your adding a diff 300+ is pretty pointless anyway, same goes for the TFSI (Bar the S3) its just people chasing dyno numbers, get a octavia mk1with a diff and 300hp then set it up against a 350hp Golf/Leon/mk2 octavia or whatever and i have a feeling i know who would come out on top.

300tq without a diff is pretty daft anyway so adding more is only going make it worse.

The best bet is to go the full hog with rods and all and get a diff.

Theres a few guys on seat cupra net with snapped rods at 265-270bhp power

Definitely agree.

Hence why my mk1 was sold instead if hybrid and now had a mk2 which will be at stage 2 soon ;)

All this is only worthwhile if your going to keep the car though. Resale value now is pretty poor on mk1's.

You can snap or bend rods at standard power.. its the torque or cylinder pressure that causes them to bend or snap not the HP
