Steel (Winter) Wheels for Octavia Scout

Featured Replies

Hi,

I need a set of 4 steel wheels  (6 or 6.5J / ET50 / 16" / 5x112) for my Scout.

Any ideas where from ?

Would like to collect in South Yorkshire / North Derbyshire / North Nottinghamshire / North Lincolnshire areas - not too far from where I live.

Or online, if a good price !

Thanks,  Lloyd.

VW Transporter T4 wheels should do. Got them on our VRS. Ebay.

Try Rainworth Skoda in Mansfield

Is the official (approved) tyre size still 205/55R16? As that doesn't match the 225/50R17 size.

I have 205 55 16 tyres on my Winter Alloys ....Same diameter as my Standard Alloys and tyres 225 40 18

Scouts are on tyres one size up from all the other Octavia IIs.

I'm more after if that size (which is the correctly scaled size) is manufacturer approved for the Scout (in the fuel flap etc) or do they just have the standard sticker that shows the smaller size and you have to live with the speedo being quite a bit out.

Yes, 205/55/16 is the approved size for the Scout. It's what I have on for my winters

will give you information about compatibility of tyres sizes and confirm how similar the rolling radius might be.

My car has the original 15" alloys and when I had a set of Continental TS850 winter tyres fitted, I chose 195/65 R15 91H instead of the alternative 205/60 R15 91H suggested by Mytyres, thus saving well over £20  a corner.  Within about 1% same averall diameter and sit fine on my rims.  (This is a 2.0 litre diesel 4x4 estate and I bought it as a practical, all-weather workhorse, not as a sports car or a flash-looking status symbol, so I'm very pleased to have the smallest diameter wheels and the corresponding higher-profile, more comfortable and lower-cost tyres to suit.)
