Cigarette Lighter

Damned annoying little thing. Popped ou the lighter to fit a new one and obviously the replacement didn't come with the tidy little loom end the stock one did. After a bit of surgery it was all wired in great and working spot on bar 1 STUPID problem that's boiling my brain! The light! The damned light is off when it should be on and vice versa- car lights off, lighter light on, turn car lights on and lighter light goes off...I tried swapping the light connections round but still the same. I'm more than likely missing something seriously stupid here
