Quick question for those more knowledgeable than myself - my Octavia estate has a metal zig-zag strip underneath the car going from one side to the other, located approximately where the rear and front doors meet.

 

What does this do/function?  When my car is fully loaded up, it tends to scrape the start of my driveway as my driveway is at the angle of an olympic ski jump to the road.

 

(Hope I have explained this well).

Is it perhaps the fuel cooler you mean?
