superb tow bar question

Featured Replies

Guys I bought a tow bar off the net for my 2009 superb .. it came with alot of wiring.. I got a local mechanic to fit the bar but he had a good look at the wiring and reckons its gona be to difficult to wire up with out a specfic wire harness for my car ..

did anybody else have this issue?

Any good auto electrician should be able to do the job for you. I take it you have a bypass wiring kit for it, if the wires are labelled then it should be not too much of a problem, if not then a call to the supplier, if there is one should furnish you with what colour goes where. Even a vehicle specific kit will be difficult to fit if you don't have the towbar wiring prep in place as it entails getting the wiring underneath the trim from the back of the car to front, pugging into the canbus controller I believe and then recoding it to suit.
