but realistically, i cant afford coilovers that offer the comfort im after, that would be KW v2 / v3 territory, cant be splashing over £1k on coilovers when i'm trying to save to move out, the Bilsteins / Konis / H&R at half the budget will be quality but with a subtle drop, 40mm will be more than enough for me in all honesty

thats an LCR splitter, available from Main Seat Dealers or Awesome GTi

so i cant stop thinking about this little pickle, i dont want the feeling of being a mug and buying a fixed height kit only to be dissapointed with the look, i HATE the standard height these cars come with, and i love the drop i've got now, i'm not even THAT low

I've thought about putting the standard shocks on and replacing the springs with 60/40 FK springs, would lower similar to above, but have the OEM feel in terms of comfort, would it knacker the shocks though?

 

another option is a fixed height / dampening adjustable kit, Apex and FK do a couple of kits that are perfectly in my budget:

, AP coilovers  are the coilover of choice at that price, i cant REALLY stretch to £500 as i've got to get these fitted aswell

Get the AP coilovers, your budget means there's just no contest, you won't use adjustable damping it's a faff unless you're a track monkey, you insist on a big drop so you really need coilovers, get the AP kit and be done with this.

 

Tell us how happy you are once you've COMMITTED and bought and fitted the damn things.
