On the 1.6TDi CR engine the service intervals are 10,000 miles. I had my car last serviced at 30079 miles and at 38200, the service indicator started to come on and now tells me the car is due a service.

 

Now is what is the reason for this early indication? Is it due to my style of driving? My journey lengths or due to the time period?

 

The car was last serviced in April 2013. I am tempted to leave the service for a little longer before booking it in.

Yup - not 10000 miles, but 9400 or something.  George knows (375 days odd, whichever sooner).

 

I got mine done at about that for first service, received the dealer card this week - indicated 17000 miles, with service indicator not yet chiming at 1500 to go.

372 days,  (1 year and 1 week) or 9400 miles shows if resetting a Fixed Service.
