Featured Replies

Hi all,

I bet you have had loads of posts about this and are bored of answering them but I think I have a problem due to the cold weather.  On the pasenger side of my car I noticed I am getting some ice on the inside of the car.  Does anyone else have this problem??? or know a solution for this??

I have a 2008 Pre facelife Vrs

Many thanks

Tom.

Condensation? stick the air con on to dehumidify?

If you are getting LOTS of condensation it might be that you have a water leak. front foot wells carpet wet?

If its not the above make sure the inside of the screen is kept clean. Many get dehumidifying bags from ebay or amazon. I've got 4 in mine!

You can get them with indicators that change colour then you pop them in the micro to dry them out then go again.

Keeping the heater on recycle, rather than getting damp air from outside can make a difference too. Good luck

i had ice on the windscreen then condensation once it melted. Massive pain in the backside but just one of those things i suppose.

Welcome to Octy ownership.

I take it this is normal in these Octy's? My front and rear windscreen had a lot of ice/condensation built up. Thanks to that, my rear wiper is not working anymore  I think the motor is gone, how much would it cost?

Right after 3 years of heavy condensation I bit the bullet and took advice from here and ran my car in econ mode on the ac. So in theory no air con on in the car. The problem has now gone! Usually every morning I would have to wait 10 mins for the inside of the screen to dry out. The issue is the air con doesn't dump its collected damp air well enough, so on start up throws out damp air onto the inside of the screen.

Try running without air con for a few days to dry the system out. Remember too when you press the windscreen demist (front not back) the system automatically turns econ off and air con on, so remember to press econ if you press demist.

The daft thing is air con does demist cars so much quicker, but the Octavia system stores damp air ready for the next start up!

The other week before I turned the air con off I was misting up at every engine start before the car was fully up to temp. Now I can jump in anytime and the only condensation is the normal amount on the rear screen.
