Got 2007 vrs se and going the next  stage,hybrid(CHEAP) and sachs smf flywheel n clutch.

 

Already done the lot to suspension and brakes(OCTY F /Rs), FMIC, Battery to boot  made fibre glass bonnet.

 

Anyone fitted a quick shift kit?

 

As going to have box out thought I would ask.(Worth it?)

 

ALSO WHAT IS IT LISTED UNDER, as cant find 1 listed for fabia asw vrs 6 speed.

 

 Last time doing owt without stuff breaking till next year ,when fingers crossed, we do FULL balance and rebiuld.

 

GOING TO MATCH PORT INTAKE  EXHAUST AND HEAD.

 

Done petrol s ,2 strokes, air cooled vws,mk1 golf gti,A series, good results.

Yes, when it comes to headwork the same rules apply, don't mess with the compression at all, three angle valve seats, port matching and smoothing all work well, don't enlarge the ports, work on the inlet short side only, leave the exhaust alone otherwise, you need to maintain gas speed.

Same for the manifolds, just clean 'em up, no polishing on anything at all, flow attaches to polished surfaces and you don't want that.

 

I wouldn't bother with a quickshift even if you could get one, pull tall gears and ride the torque wave, no point in revving it too hard so no need to snatch at the gears.

If your going hybrid then you will see that it's well worth revving them

Nonetheless I see peak torque on that graph at about 3200 so you'll want to change gear earlier on a six-speed so that you drop right on it, maximum tractive force equals maximum acceleration, revving it harder and going slower makes no sense.

Buys hybrid turbo.....still shifts like driving standard car.

There isn't any short shifts available for the Fabia. I have been in contact with diesel geek.com who make a 6sp short shifter but they advised me it wouldn't fit the Fabia :(

Is there anyone we can approach? This is a common topic therefore there's a gap in the market for them!

Draft42 shifter bushes make a nice difference

Swear I read somewhere ages ago that a company tried making one for the fabia, and could decrease the throw up and down, but couldnt decrease it from left to right due to the way the gear linkages run :S
