Variable boot floor price?

Featured Replies

Pick up for my SM has been set for Saturday (woo hoo), and the one accessory that I might be tempted to stump up for fairly soon is the variable boot floor. I've had it on both of my Octavias and do like it as a way of keeping things nice and tidy.

A quick phone call suggests that they are about £200 though...

Any suggestions of what sort of discount I should be able to achieve by pleading poverty at the dealer (or where to get one cheap; Superskoda don't list them)? Would TPS stock them?

10% - 15%  "trade" discount would seem fair, as you just purchased a new car from them. That's the sort of figure I usually get when buying dealer extras for a new car.

Don't forget you cannot get a spare wheel in with the variable floor like you can in the Octy. I assumed you could do this when I bought our Yeti with the V.B.F. and unfortunately the spare wheel retro fit makes the whole issue very expensive and a lot of parts to fit and throw away. If you are not concerned about a spare wheel they are great

Supplying dealer says £205, local dealer says £183.

Yes, I'm aware of the boot floor vs spare tyre conundrum.

I've not had a spare on the Octavia for the last couple of years and haven't really worried, though I did balk at the idea of paying £60 for new goo as it was past the use by date.

In some ways it's a shame that Skoda don't fit a full width spare tyre to bring the boot floor up flat with the spare wheel kit.

Thinks... is it possible to put the spare wheel and tools under the variable height floor? I.e. not using the spare tyre kit mouldings at all.

No it can't be done, the more solid floor of the V.B.F. is to thick to stand on top of the wheel by over 1 inch

I'm quite surprised by that, especially as the VBF lines up with the boot edge but the spare wheel floor is an inch or two lower.
