I'll soon be taking delivery of a new Yeti (1.4 TSI Outdoor Ambition Green Tec) which is equipped with the cheapest radio available, a Blues. I have considered fitting a Columbus or Bolero but have been put off a) by the price and the complexity of installing Blue Tooth (which incidently got its name after a Danish Viking king).

My question is, has anybody fitted one of the non-Skoda HUs and are they worth the money?

I have heard of people using an Alpine H/U which has all the features you might want in the correct size and their kit is, typically, good and less costly than the columbus which might be an aesier fit. You will find much more info in the Briskoda ICE forum.
