Right the Black Thing In The TIP' ( Octavia VRS mk1 ) Which is Connected Off The Breather Pipe's! ( hockey Puc ) So many different names for it!

Can it be Removed? & Just a Breather Put In Place? & The Hockey Puc Blanked!

Hasn't it got sponge or some sort of filter in it to stop any big bits of rubbish getting into the intake system

it is meant to close off the crankcase vent slightly whenever you have a large vacuum on th intake side of the turbo. If you block of the TIP and vent the case to atmosphere I don't think the car would like the metered air that would get lost through it but you might get away with it.

Saw a few boys Totally remove it... & Thought id Pop the Question 

How do you know if its working properly or not?

Isn't that the actual PCV valve on these or is that located somewhere else?

Pcv valve is in the t piece in the breather by the oil filter housing.

must just be another non return valve of some description then if it's even that- can't beat over engineering

Removing it won't stop it burning!!
