Lifespan...

Featured Replies

Was just wondering really what kind of life span i can expect from my car? I have a vrs, its an oil burner but thats irrelevant to this post imo.

Just wanted to know peoples opinions if they think stuff like replacement turbos etc will go down in price. (basically anything that has a a life span i need to worry about.) I would ideally like to keep it long term (pass it on to the better half when i have enough to take a step up) Any opinions welcome but any specific knowledge is greatly appreciated

I dont think iv seen a high enough mileage vrs to comment mate.

Perhaps its good its a burner, its constantly getting topped up with fresh oil that way haha

Don't think you need to worry about turbo unless your booting while cold, wouldn't worry too much about cool downs (always good practice to) because coolant pumped through after switch off if required. Spark plugs are probably the only thing I can suggest that get changed on a regular basis

Turbos and superchargers keep comming up on ebay second hand at about £300 each.. (I may be keeping mine past 100k ;) )

Ihaven't heard of any turbo or supercharger failures yet :)
