LED bulbs interior lamp.

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Having a read lot of topics on this subject and seen a lot of peoples input.

Can you tell which is the best set of Led bulbs from Autobulbs to fit the inside courtesy light unit over the dash 3 bulbs. I don't think it makes any difference but my vehicle is a 1.9tdi estate. What are the ups and downs of completing this exercise.

Thank you for any help it is gratefully received.

My advice, buy SMD Festoon bulbs for the main light and smaller SMD bulbs for the map lights, they seem to last ALOT longer than traditional LED's

I've replaced mine with some cheap led's from Amazon only a few quid they've lasted fine.

On the contrary I replaced my side repeaters with £15 super-dooper led lights from Autobulbs direct and one of them is faulty. Great customer service though they have offered to refund me or replace.

Gobsheene and theeezenutz,

Thank you for your replys, I take it SMD is the place to get them from.

SMD is just a 'next generation' LED. :)

Ebay Specials, if you look back through my posts I have a link to them on another thread.

If you cannot find them I'll dig it out later, as i'm just about to leave work here.

Gobsheene,

These are the one's I brought http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00AV1FLD4/ref=oh_details_o09_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

If I remember correctly the 38mm version is for number plates, it's the 36mm one you'll need for the interior bulb. Please correct me if i'm wrong.

You'll need 501 fitment for the two reading lights. Something like these http://www.amazon.co.uk/Indicator-Sidelight-Perfect-Replace-Standard/dp/B0041G04S2/ref=sr_1_1?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1391105734&sr=1-1&keywords=501+led+bulbs

Hope this helps.

The superskoda kit replaces the three bulbs with twenty led's.

Just a word of warning....  I fitted LED's to my main interior light & map reading lights, and for ages I thought I was noticing something in the corner of my eye when it was raining.

Indeed, when my wipers are on intermittent, the LED's will flicker slightly sometimes. Rather annoying! I believe it's because they have a very low draw on them, so a bit of residual in the circuit can do this. I'm going to be changing them back soon. Not to mention they're stupidly bright in the dark - too much so in fact!

I've not experienced any problems with mine so far.

Mine are also brighter than standard lights but for me that was the whole point of upgrading them, that and they look better imo.
