Heated Seats?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just a quick question.  I have a pre facelift 08 Vrs.

My question is heated seats.  Is the loom already in the car or are they not possible to fit?

Thanks all

Tom.

The loom won't be in the car

it is possible to retrofit, although it won't be cheap if you go the OEM route

Plenty of cheap ones on ebay if you want to go the non OEM route

I have these fitted my my 2012 vRS, cheap and they get nice and toastie! :-)

Not to bad to fit either, easier than the OEM ones. Just don't buy the other kits off ebay with the carbon heated elements, they are just rubbish!!

do they? Mine are awful in my 10 vrs. Even took it back to dealer who said it's normal. They get a bit warm. The ones in the fabia are boiling, hotter than my old bora and that's saying something. Love driving the fabia just for the seats!

Yep, I totally agree here. I fitted one of these kits into the front leather seats of my Octavia Elegance, and have no issues at all. They have 2 heat settings, are really warm, and heat up very quickly. Same seller I got mine from too, really quick delivery.

I am so impressed with these kits off ebay that I will be fitting one to the other Octavia when funds allow.

All you need for the installation is a twin core cable to each seat, providing a positive ignition feed and an earth. I fitted the switches in the little coin trays on the side of the seat.

Now that's quite neat :)

Bit envious of the apparent ease of these as I've got so far down retrofitting 'oem' heated seats climatronic panel and wiring loom to connect to my Audi seats but finding its far more complicated than I first thought.

I've got the climatronic panel and main chassis wiring loom but missing the underseat wiring looms / control unit.  So if anyone has these off a 2007+ car I'd really appreciate a message.

Thanks for the information people . With the kit off eBay do you fit them into the seats inside or on top?  I really like my seats and don't really want to place something on top

You lift the material off the seats (doesn't need removing completely) and slide the pads in underneath.

They won't get as hot as OEM and they don't warm up as quick, but they do get toastie :-)
