Instrument cluster problem. Indicators keep cutting off...

Featured Replies

Hi guys.

At this time all the gauges are dead. First, it started to happen now and then but now I can drive all day and still the indicators won't come on. If I pull out one fuse from the fuse box they start working again, but the distance traveled isn't recorded anymore and when I switch off the engine the gauges don't go back to zero. They remain frozen until I start the engine again. How can it be fixed without spending too much money as I'm looking for a job now. I have experience with fixing electronic problems up to a point, but I'm not experienced enough to find the fault, that's why I'm asking... Maybe some of you had this problem before...

Cheers.

Thank you kentphil1! Yes it did. I did have a look at those resistors as described in the link you provided, but with the naked eye I couldn't see any fault but tried to resolder anyway. And it works so far. I hope it won't happen again :)

Big thank you!
