MORE FUN TODAY!!!

Engine Yellow Warning Light came back on today even though 'The Car People' said it had been sorted. I spoke to them and they said they will try to get it sorted and if they cannot it will go to a SKODA DEALERSHIP. I'm wondering how long will that take?

Cigarette Lighter socket and rear wash wipers are defo not working...honeymoon period is defintely over!!!

I spoke to SKODA about this Engine Light issue they stated that if the engine seems to be running okay then its probably okay and that they may not have reset the ECU properly?!!! So fault code will come back. I asked if they could have just ignored the fault and reset the ECU (without fixing the problem). He stated not really because the Light would come on immmediately.

I phoned 'The car People' about 1 hour ago as the Customer Services lady had not got back to me the guys on the main desk stated that she had been very busy and apologised he then took my 3 tele numbers and said he would get her to ring me first thing in the morning and as I was planning to go to Birmingham on Saturday they would try to at least arrange that it could be checked to see if the problem was major so I can decide to go or cancel my trip (My dad is going to be well peeved off as I haven't been to see him in ages...you know dad eh?) Any advice guys? PLEASE!!!

Rather narked off Aaquil.

Can you give us a bit more info on the fault code/s for the CEL and if there are any running problems.

Sounds to me like all "The car people" did originally was clear the fault code from the computer.

How much of the rear wash/wipe is working. Does the wiper arm work, what about the spray or is it just the spray that doesnt work. If its the later, chances are a pipe has become detached at one of the joints. Happened to me and took the dealer 10 seconds to fix.

Thanks for all the replies...UPDATE

The Car People took the Octavia off me today. First thing tommorow morning its going to a Skoda Dealership to have it put right. The Cigarette lighter socket is heating up the Cigarette Lighter but my 'Valentine One' Camera detector is still not working even though it works in the (nasty) Loan car they gave me. What is the score with the Cigarette socket then?

Anyway SKODA are going to check the Cigarette Lighter Socket, Washer on the rear (Wiper is working) and of course the Engine Light.

Regards the smelly wash fluid I just emptied the wash bottle yesterday on the way back from work on the front windscreen. Flipping heck it stank!!!

Aaquil.

I'll update you all tommorow.

Seems like the car people are doing it properly & trying to get things sorted promptly & through a Skoda dealer which is good to see.

Tell me about it...the car is fantastic! It doesn't feel that much slower than my Legacy Turbo and even though my Legacy felt solid the Octavia feels very solid and planted on the road. I always look forward to driving it. Its getting serviced at SKODA next week and I can't wait! Sad eh?

By the way HERE'S THE UPDATE:

'The Car People' called me today SKODA will need the car until Monday! They have had it since this morning...and need it longer should I be worried?

I asked about the Feroda brake upgrades at SKODA they said because they are not the type they usually fit they cannot guarantee them and will therefore not fi them. So getting the brake pads upgraded and fluid can I go anywhere?

Thanks to you all

Aaquil.

No, Like most garages they are probably busy & need to allocate time to do the work.

UPDATE:

Got a call from the very nice (in a polite way I mean!) 'Customer Services' lady who said that it is just a sensor that needs replacing but they have to order the part so it will take a few days!!! I am really missing the Octy now!!! So fortunately it was something simple phew.

Thanks to all for keeping interest in my story.

UPDATE: After a week of waiting I have finally got it back. Whoopee!!! I got a call from 'The Car People' on Friday saying that SKODA had said they had to order another sensor and it would not be in until Monday!!! (This coming Monday). I then phoned SKODA who called back and left a message saying that the Warranty work had been done as well as the 20,000 mile service. I just picked it up...its great to have it back. I don't understand what this "...needs another sensor..." business was though?

Oh yes another thing they use Castrol GTX Magnatec oil for the oil change is that correct and more importantly is it any good?

The car has 26,000 miles on the clock and has had a 20,000 mile service when is the next one due?

Thanks to all...

Aaquil.

stop asing questions and go out and enjoy it!!! :P

you should come along to trax mate and see all the other sad people and their skoda's :P

including me :o
