Rear crank seal

Featured Replies

Hi again guys.

The vrs i just bought has quite a bad oil leak (engine oil) it leaks out from in between the engine and gearbox so iam guessing its the crank seal?

Is this common?

I dont really have forever to have a car to be in bits so ordered a seal in the hope that will cure it.

My clutch doesnt slip so ive just parked it up and left it till my bits arrive to sort it.

Hopefully clutch is in ok nik as iam still learning what set up to go with as id like to go single mass but unsure on which one?

Are you sure the cam box is not leaking and running down the side of the engine?, Rear main is not a common leak, although anything can fail.

I had the car on the ramp and could see the oil coming out through the small gaps between the engine and box so just suspected this.

There is a slight weep from the top of the engine but nothing like whats coming out underneath.

Thanks for your help tho ill triple check the top of the engine.

Hopefully no big surprises.
