subtle upgrade to vRS

Featured Replies

Hi. I am now the proud owner of an 11 plate fabia vRS.

As I will be doing a lot of milege for work, I wanted to upgrade/enhance my sound. I am loathe to change the Swing HU. Same applies for the speakers, as I still have the car under warranty and dont want any issues around that with leaking doorwells, etc.

I listen to classical music, Adele, Lenka, HeartFM, BBC4, Queen, etc. Nothing too bassy or boomy. I do like ma bass, but I like it punchy and sharp.

I also need to keep my boot space free.

So, I need some recommendations on a

 - Amp ( crossover ?) slim enough to fit somewhere unobtrusive.

 - Underseat sub ?

- Possible iphone/Bluetooth/Parrot connectivity for phoning. ( I will use the mdi/aux interfaces for music, so assume no bluetooth required for music)

Assuming I am using existing speakers. Additionally, if someone can convince me that new speakers are worth the warranty hassle and would sound good with all that road noise on the motorway, then please suggest !

Budget is ~ £500, give or take £500 ;-)

I also need some recommended installers in the Watford area or in Reading ( if it can be done in a few hours).

thanks

D

speaking to a installer whos worked on a VRS fabia before I was given the following suggestions:

Option 1

Focal PS165 front component speakers mounted on MDF collars

Enhance EHSW8ACT  8" active Subwoofer

Dynamat

Option 2:

Focal PS65 front component speakers mounted on MDF collars

Focal Ibus 2.1 8" active subwoofer with inbuilt 2 x 55watt amplifier for front speakers http://www.focal.com/en/plug-play/250-ibus-21-3544059750129.html

Dynamat

Option 3:

as Option 2 but with Focal ISS165 component speakers mounted on MDF collars  instead of the PS

Any views on the above ?

Since nobody is replying here, you might as well ask in the Fabia 2 section,

there are some owners that have done Upgrades.
