pd150 turbo

Featured Replies

hi guys im thinking of getting a pd150 when i have some spare money and was just wondering if i need a certain one as ive got a blt not asz and are the turbo's a straight fit or will i need anything else other than just the pd150 turbo ?

Presuming you have an egr delete it's a straight fit, the turbo needs 'clocking' ( housing turned around ) this is simple thow you undo a few bolts and it spins round. It is a bolt on upgrade thow yes.

i dont have a egr delete im not sure if i want one as ive heard you cant map out the eml or cel on a blt ? not sure if thats right but if i need to fit a delete kit for the turbo then i gues il have to,

are there any gains after fitting the turbo without having a remap ?

You'd need to map it to make the most of the turbo

oh ok will it be ok for a few weeks ? as i wont have the money to have it remaped straight away and do you know if il need a egr delete or will it fit my standard egr ?

It should be fine for a few weeks without being mapped. I would have thought the standard egr would match right up. But you'd need to get it confirmed though. Also just read you have the blt. You'd need a blt turbo as the pipe running from the egr is different. Best bet is buy a couple of blanking plates. Which will delete the egr, but long throw up the eml

so the pd150 will fit but put the blanking plates on ? and leave egr in place or can i get a pd150 for blt ? sorry about all the questions lol im new to diesels

My standard egr matched up . Just had too clock it... simple when you have both turbos next too each other

If you have tools. You can also make a blanking plate for egr from metal bar ;)

BLT is 130 engine thow isn't it not 150? That's why I said presuming you have an egr delete it will fit lol.

Of course, wasn't doubting that. Was just trying to give the op other options too as he doesn't have an egr delete

Pd150 turbo will fit a blt engine but as the angle of the outlet for egr is at a different angle on asz manifolds a blanking plate is required, you could possible get the pd150 turbo welded onto a blt manifold but I'm not sure if it can be done, I've bought a turbodynamics mdx446 turbo which is a stage 2 pd150 hybrid and have had to blank off the egr outlet on the manifold. Delete the egr and when you go to get your car remapped get then to map out the CEL for the egr

I'm in the same boat and have a spare but Garrett 130 in case my old BLT turbo blows.

What have you guys been quoted for switching over turbos ?

I've not been quoted a price my car had to get recovered when the turbo went so have just left it with the garage to change once my new turbo is delivered. Once it's done I'll post on this to give you an idea of the costs involved :)
