Springs keep snapping

Recommended Posts

Is there a fault with the springs on the Fabia? I have a 57 plate 1.9 tdi and when I got it 18 months ago the NSF spring snapped. So went to a Skoda dealer and replaced both springs. Now I go out to the car and got about a mile from the house and the NSF spring snaps again. Is this going to be recurring problem meaning I only get 18 months out of them?

Springs are faulty, or the person fitting them is faulty, or the car has some other issues,

unless you just drive over Speed Bumps and potholes without slowing down.

But even then, you might be breaking more than just the springs.

Are they getting in and fitting the correct springs for a 1.9TDI, rather than just springs for a Fabia.

& is this a Skoda garage fitting them, or a garage or Tyre and Exhaust Centre?

Are all the Dampers OK?

The car was bought new from a Skoda dealer by my brother I got it from him and it's had all the work done by the dealer from new. I avoid as many pot holes as possible but in Edinburgh there is a lot. I'm working tomorrow so will need to take it in on Tues. I'll get them to look more into it. By the dampers all look fine
