Anyone Know Mitsu's Rally Plans?

Featured Replies

Hi all

Does anyone know what Mitsubishi are gonna be rallying next year (or if they are coming back at all?) is the the Lancer or the supposed new Colt? I dont buy motorsport mags anymore , so I havent got any info on this. Has anything been anounced in the likes of Autosport?

Hi Duncan,

Only know that they have shafted Alister McRae and replaced him with Gilles Panizzi. That might win them a few points on the San Remo...................not heard much else though. How's the new car, by the way??

Cheers

Hugh

Here's the autosport.com news snippet. Mostly blah blah, I'm afraid:

Panizzi signs for Mitsubishi

Alister McRae must look elsewhere

Panizzi is leaving for greener pastures

Mitsubishi has confirmed that it has signed asphalt ace Gilles Panizzi for 2004. The 37-year-old will replace British driver Alister McRae when the squad return to the World Championship full-time next year.

As a six-times rally winner, Panizzi is not eligible to continue with his third driver role at Peugeot under the 2004 regulations.
