Columbus Navigation locking up at NEC

Featured Replies

Spent the last 2 days at a hotel at the NEC. Had a reproducable issue in that the map froze on the Columbus 4 times, every time I drove from the M42 J6 to the South Car Park road by the Crowne Plaza, and when returning to the M42. Nav instructions continued (audio) but the map froze. Had to hard reboot the Columbus.

The Columbus flags them up as restricted access roads and seems to throw a wobbly when you drive on to them.

Anyone else had this issue before I flag to SUK as another fault for them to add to the long list on my case?

Sent from my phone so please excuse brevity and spelling

Hi,

Not sure if it's of help but my current car (A6 SLine) does the same on the m42 just coming off onto the a45 - next door to the airport.

It does it everyday then picks up again so not sure if it's a signal blackspot or something,,

Might be something to do with the proximity to the airport??

Are they giving you any R & D payments yet Andy, they should be.

Interesting thought, the navigation instructions on mine lock at the roundabout for British Car Auctions at Blackbushe on the A30.  But I haven't had any problems driving round the M25 near Heathrow.

Haven't tried since the updating the mapping data to November 2013 though to see whether it was a data issue.
