fabia headlamps. perspex has clouded corner from inside!!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

lately noticed that one of the headlamps has a slighly clouded corner in the perspex from the inside. Worrying that it might have been slight water ingress last winter. Only noticed it now though!. Is headlamp difficult to remove and separate???. Car has halogen type lamps.

Regards to all,

Charles

I've a horrible feeling they aren't just difficult to remove and separate, they are impossible to remove and separate. Could be time to start searching scrappies.

The lamps arent sealed anyhow.

Is the cloudy part on the outer or inner edge? i.e headlamp or indicator.

Usually that happens overtime as the lamp is used. Burns from the inside veeeerrryyyy slowly...sand is a also a contributor to a fogginess, but very rarely, it's usually from inside, and it is irreperable. Had that on my old lamps, that's one of the reasons i bought the new ones..

Sand  How do you get Sand into your headlamps?

I think he means sand blowing onto the surface of the headlamps acting as an abrasive and marking the outside of the lens. Probably get a fair bit blowing about in some foreign lands.

Oops! You're right (United Arab Emirates member).

The perspex cover isn't sealed as Lummox said so the damp gets in and is burnt out when the lights are used, it happens more at this time of year for obvious reasons.
