OMG 602bhp conversion for mk1 octavia vrs !?

Featured Replies

LOL - The car that was "600hp" owned by JBS many moons was bought by a member on here and found to be realistically a bit above 400bhp.

The rest of the saga I don't really recall, but it was not 600hp.

Presumably it will spin the wheels in any gear at any speed.

The diff may help a little. It'll be interesting to know if the car is still around. 400 bhp isn't too shabby mind!

It had nitrous to boost the Bhp up, 100bhp shot I think it was.

Was that aid wheel spin?

It did, and I believe when the buyer dyno'd it, the nitrous was also being used. :)

It would take a fair amount of searching to find his thread I think as would have been 4 or 5 years ago I reckon.

Useless power ?

Never did see the dyno run figures or update that thread.

R32 brake conversion? Yuk. Especially the rears seems a waste of time.

Think it featured in P-torque mag

Can look it up if peeps are interested

Useless power ?

Maybe, but only because its FWD?  If someone could modify this car to 4WD it might be serious power?  I`m sure it was a 600bhp Skoda Octavia MK2 that held the land speed record recently for a 2.0 Litre car??

It was, but that was on a salt flat with enough space to be able to put the power down without just slipping wheels

And no need to try and turn.

I thought it was nearer to 700bhp ?

Look what I found whole sorting the garage!

You have to agree, irrespective of the actual power and wether or not it had a hope in hell's chance of transfering it to the road... it's a good demo vehicle in respect of getting people talking. :)

A 1.8T with a bit of NOS can make 650-700bhp.

But like most regular nutters, you'd want to start with 4x4really.

4x4 is an impediment with respect to number of dyno meets you can attend

Ah, I see the flaw! :D

Here I am...

Only just spotted the thread!

Bought the car, after being garaged for like 7 years..

I highly doubt it had 600bhp..

That's not to say it won't end up near that, once I've finished.

:)

Long story, but the car is now running over 400bhp..with the boost turned down.

(In this weather)

Torque steers like nothing else..can't hit full boost in the first 3 gears, with LSD.

I'm loving the car,and surprises quite a few more "exotic" cars..wink wink.

Edit..never used the nos..it doesn't need it,IMHO

I am quite curious about this car since I owned my previous VRS about 7-9 years ago. Also would like to know how decent JBS is, as their site and stuff they offer seems awesome!

In Holland JD engineering is very popular, but they have a habit of deleting most of the sensors and MAF which JBS is strongly against. I think I am with JBS on this one as I believe it is more suited for road driving and deleting everything will make it like a tuned early Cossie, awesome power and torque but not silky smooth.

I am a huge Rallycross fan and I know how 600 bhp can destroy 4 cylinder engines, especially with their massive torque and ALS. Personally I would much rather have a bulletproof over engineered engine with upgraded internals and the smallest turbo for the job and about 200 bhp litre would be about it for me.

But if JBS claims a 602 bhp, you would expect too deliver such. Are all their kits down on power?

The guy who owns it is on my facebook friends list.  I believe he's had 440bhp out of it, might be wrong.

With that kind of power up the Rev range I probably would like a shorter gear ratio then my normal 5 speeder, but this one has got the 6 speed, so good choice I guess.
