Eibach Pro Dampers

Featured Replies

I've done a search and very little has come up,was wondering if anyone has any experience of these shockers? I already have the pro springs on but I'm now deperate for a set of matched shockers, still got some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and I'm unsure what to go for.

Eibach discontinued the Pro dampers a year or so back now.

Go with some Billies or Koni dampers.

I don't recommend the eibach (Sachs) dampers. Had them many years ago on tdi pro springs and then vrs pro spring (when they released them). Didn't find the dampers up to the job of the springs.

Thanks for everyone's advice but in the end I went for the pro dampers, managed to get hold of a set at a cracking price and had them fitted yesterday, initial impressions are very good rides a little firmer but nothing dire but it's the lack of body roll that has come as the biggest surprise. Owned the car for five years now which is a record for me and after this latest improvement I have fallen in love with it all over again!!

Sorry but I have to ask, how would shocks affect the body roll ? Surely the main element of resistance and stiffness comes from the springs themselves, although if you had worn shocks you could surely change them for just about anything and they would be better ?

I used standard Sachs shocks not PRo and they were less than £30 a side and they are fine. The springs I've got on are on the stiff side but you can't blame the shockers for the reaction of the springs.

The dampers control the rate of the roll.

Damper play a very important job at controlling the springs. Example is the clio trophey. Uses same spring rates as a 182 Cup but uses £1000 front dampers (each side) to control the springs.
