maybe he wanted his wheels sprayed in spots :D

Red VRS with red wheels won't look good

Gun metal, plenty of laquer, and remember preparation is everything.

Take it you are going to flat each coat down before the next coat?

Gloss black wheels have a couple of issues

1. Show all defects / swirls / scratches from cleaning

2. They make the tyres look brown (need to constantly use tyre black

3. Like having a black car. Look at them and they turn dirty

So for those reasons id go gunmental (plus looks better anyway)

Corrected a little.....

BTW...Black

I did gunmetal on my spiders and never looked back....much more aggro look for my yellow car, looked too girly in silver....I lost the chrome also with the black rubber grille instead, heeded the advice of others about the tyres in relation to black alloys

Spiders are touch on the rough side with the low profile, so much like this thread I was thinking of doing gray (or black) on my standard wheels as alternative and was thinking of doing the 195s tyres as I need some shortly/

I was thinking probably gray again but can't rule out black yet in my head, but probably should. Gray works !

Alternatively you know they do offers on groupon on refurbs sometimes, cheap as £25 a wheel, what would that be like comparing with refurb yourself at leisure out of interest. Never tried it so can't comment, but doing refurb yourself probably DOES take an absolute age.

I did my wheels black and as jase said you lose all definition of the wheels and the tyres look manky. I've now gone anthracite and they look much nicer.

Also in the pic below with the black wheels I've had to use a Instagram filter to actually see the wheels.

Gun metal or anthracite on a red car. Depends on the wheels though.

+1 here for anthracite

Red, I like fire engines...

They go DEEDAWDEEDAWDEEDAW.

What colour should I paint my spare room?
