Anyone changed the footrest?

Featured Replies

Have ordered this footrest, and wonder if anyone have changed it?

Easy job? post-78191-0-86295100-1391712000_thumb.jpg

I'd be interested in knowing also as this is on my list of things to buy in March.

Is this a replacement for the left foot rest or to go over the wheel arch for your right foot, similar to the Octy II?

In Norway (LHD), it is a replacement for the left footrest. After a closer look it is not the same for the RHD.

Sorry, had not noticed you were LHD, is it a manual or dsg? We really miss the RHD right foot rest for manual transmission that was fitted to Octy II as not much room for your foot when using cruise control with the Octy III.

I see. It's a manual, as i understand there is no difference on the footrest if it is a LHD.

I changed my pedals and footrest on my LHD O3.

Clutch and brake pedals are very easy.

Accelerator pedal needed some lubrification.

For LHD footrest you need to:

- take off the hood opening lever. First remove the plastic clip which keeps it on its axle then just pull it out. Don't lose the plastic clip !!!!

- unscrew one plastic screw

- pull the lateral plastic cover so you can unclip the original footrest

- clip the new footrest and put back everything as it was (plastic screw & hood release lever)

By the way, manual and DSG footrests are the same. Pedals aren't.

Superskoda.com sells special RHD footrests

So is there a post production mod for the RHD manual mk3 with cruise control to comfortably park the right foot?

Or is this not a problem? I am still waiting for my Octy, so I would be interested to hear what the owners think.

I don't think there'll be room. I struggle to find space to fit my right foot when the cruise is on.

It's not clear from the description or pictures on Superskoda if the RHD footrest is for your left foot or right foot!
