Sorry OT but....Skoda Peppy anyone ?

Featured Replies

Well, Skoda seem to be admitting thats what it is on this thread. Rapid, no.

Such as shame as this could have been the car that should have been the obvious replacement to the Fabia vRS for a lot of us (if they put a vRS spec in it of course, in the way of a decent engine). If it wasn't for those pesky Germans.

Sorry no sale. Think I'll wisely keep hold of my moneys until something more attractive comes along.

It's not bad but lacks a few bhp - just got rid of my 105 tsi rapid and it was a great car - handled well and loads of space.

If it was a 140bhp diesel it'd sell a lot better!

I can't stand to see "Sport" packs....its an admission of defeat by the manufacturer (but oddly very popular with the peculiar buying public who like the idea of something that looks fast...even if it actually....isn't.....)

I hate that idea. I'd rather have the opposite.....subtle but deadly

I get the impression that Skoda are keen to differentiate the Rapid from the Octavia by not offering the 1.8 and 2.0 engines at all, is that right?

So no 150/184 diesels, no 1.8 TSI? The latter would make the most sense, especially in a Spaceback. I'd be very tempted by a 1.8 TSI K04 a couple of years down the line.

Will they not bring out a vrs in a year's time or something?? Car manufacturers normally run a model for a few years then bring out a proper sports model

Because there is no market for a vrs

There is hardly a market for the rapid at all

Nature of the beast.

Lukewarm cars that look a bit flash sell well.

Mk2 Fabia Monte Carlo (looks nice, goes like a regular Fabia) well outsold the VRS.  More profits for Skoda.

Yes, hardly any market at all, the Rapid sold almost as many as the Superb and was not that far behind the Citigo.
